You know that song NO EXPECTATIONS by The Rolling Stones on the BEGGARS BANQUET album?
"Our love is like our music
It's here
and then
It's gone." (Jagger / Richards)
That's how I feel about these podcasts, these sit-in-front-of-a-laptop-and-play-to-a-mirror-image-of-yourself concerts. Like most people, I'm leery of the sound of my own voice. I want people to find this interesting or enjoyable, but it sure isn't the same thing as being in a room with me.
In this set, I mostly play tunes from UNDESIRABLES & ANARCHISTS. I open with WHO IS AMERICA and close with BROOKS ROBINSON'S CAMP. In between, I hit THE TASTE OF DIRT, THE BALLAD OF JOHNNY BLOWTORCH, ALMOST NIGHTFALL, ALL OF MY FRIENDS, and I even take a stab at RUNNING.
I wish I was better looking. I wish I had a more resonant voice. But I like the songs a lot.
